Xcaret

Xcaret is a Mayan word for "small inlet". Mayan ruins dot the park's expansive property, where ancient Mayans were believed to have bathed in the waters of the inlet to cleanse themselves before visiting Cozumel to worship Ixchel, the Goddess of Fertility.
